Open Door Policy

Open Door Policy

The Open Door Policy states that no country cannot form a monopoly with China. In this political cartoon, Uncle Sam holds the key to China. The U.S. got the key because they were the ones who came up with the idea. Many other countries wait outside to get in. The U.S. was quite excited about this policy. With it came great privileges, the food is so rare in America that they brought some back and many stores and restaurants opened. Business in the U.S. was booming. The cartoonists message about his was that the other countries thought that Uncle Sam had all the control in the world. Of course it makes sense if he holds the key to China. Others might say that there would be some exaggeration  the man on the other side look excited to see his new country friends who will be paying him for their goods.
