Spanish-American War

Spanish-American War

The Spanish-American War was a battle between the U.S. and Spain that ended Spanish colonial ruling. It started in Cuba when Spain was treating them brutally. Many Cubans were homeless or starved and died because of it. The U.S. heard about it and did something to end it. The U.S. declared Cuba's right to be independent. This war started on April 21. George Dewey was the U.S.'s general. Uncle Sam is trying to decide which country he wants to order or in this case, help. The waiter is President McKinley, and he will do anything Sam tells him to. On the wall, there is no Spain because they are choosing who to have on their side. I think it's interesting how the countries sound and look like actual food orders.
