Roosevelt Corollary

Roosevelt Corollary

To the U.S., the Monroe Doctrine was practically dead to the other countries. In this cartoon, Roosevelt is swinging his stick at the other countries. The new diplomacy is basically the Monroe Doctrine. The countries in Europe are trying to get to the Latin America side. Cuba wasn't allowed to enter a treaty with any other Europeans country. So, the U.S. put troops to protect and watch over the Latin Americans. Other people might say that the European countries might be trying to help. However, you don't know if the other countries could be planning a sabotage. Also, the cartoonist put all the countries to be smaller than him because with the Roosevelt Corollary, he practically almost rules over them. If you look closely, you can see that Roosevelt has his eyes on the European countries and is swinging his stick at them.
